Describe the path you took from high school graduation to where you are today:

I worked in retail for a year before going back to school to work as a health professional. I had 18 years in the dental field and am now enjoying my 11th year as a Lakewood business owner, Licensed Massage Practitioner and YogaFaith instructor.

How did your experiences in Clover Park School District help prepare you for this path?

My high school education prepared me to enter college. Clover Park Technical College gave me the ability to earn a living doing what I love: helping others achieve and maintain optimum health.

Who was the most influential teacher or administrator to you as a student in the district? Why?

Dennis Dearth did a great job in leading our class to perform in Canada, Seattle's Torchlight Parade as well as our area's Daffodil Parade. I appreciate how he shaped my high school years with appreciation for good music and a caring heart.

Do you have any favorite memories from when you attended school in Clover Park School District?

One of my fondest memories of Clover Park High School was playing the clarinet and contrabass in the marching band and concert band.

What opportunities exist in your career sector for new graduates? Is postsecondary education required for this field?

Many opportunities exist for a Licensed Massage Practitioner. Continuing education is required by the state of Washington.
