Describe the path you took from high school graduation to where you are today:

I spent 20 years in the United State Air Force and retired in 1994. I was also a German and Traffic Safety teacher for eight years. I'm currently a technician for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

How did your experiences in Clover Park School District help prepare you for this path?

The writing, English and Math classes at Lakes High School helped prepare me for my career.

Who was the most influential teacher or administrator to you as a student in the district? Why?

There were a number of influential teachers and administrators that had an influence on me including Mrs. Louise Ulbricht, Math; Mrs. Bertl Werny, German; Mr. Loren Mann, Principal; and Mrs. Ruth Rockwood, Counselor.

Do you have any favorite memories from when you attended school in Clover Park School District?

Lakes High School had a great German foreign language program.

What opportunities exist in your career sector for new graduates? Is postsecondary education required for this field?

There are openings as Customs and Border Protection officers. No post-secondary education is required but a solid background in English and writing is mandatory.
