2024-25 Budget Hearing July 8

2024-25 Budget Development
Posted on 06/27/2024

CPSD has sought multiple opportunities to gather community input on budget priorities as it develops the 2024-25 budget. Two budget workshops (March 19, May 21) were held this spring and two community surveys were conducted.

More than 500 individuals participated in a recent survey which gathered input on district performance and budget priorities.

Survey Results

  • More than 8 out of 10 of participants are satisfied with the quality of education children receive in the Clover Park School District.
  • Nearly 7 out of 10 participants feel Clover Park School District prepares students with the necessary skills to graduate college and career ready.
  • More than 8 out of 10 participants feel the district is doing a fair or better job managing and spending taxpayer dollars wisely.
  • 95% of participants believe school funding should support educational programs districtwide so each student, regardless of ability, background or income, have equal access to opportunities, resources and technology to succeed.

Survey data and participant feedback identified top funding priorities as safety/security, maintaining class size maintenance, resources to classrooms and free student meals. The district is considering this input as it develops the 2024-25 draft budget proposal.

The school board will receive a budget update along with proposed 2024-25 budget information at its June 17 meeting/workshop. It will host a public hearing on the budget proposal at 5 p.m. at the CPSD Student Services Center, 10903 Gravelly Lake Dr. SW, prior to approving its final 2024-25 budget at its July 8 meeting.
