Parent and Community Involvement
Parent and community engagement is key to student success. All parents, family and community members are invited to be involved in our school. We offer a variety of ways for interested individuals to support our students. Some examples include joining our parent organization, volunteer tutoring, chaperoning field trips, serving as a site council member and helping with school special events. School Improvement Plan
The following elements were focus areas for Clover Park High School during the 2017-18 school year:
- Personalizing education by refining smaller learning communities within CPHS, including the development of a 9th grade transition program and further development of Professional Learning Communities.
- Increasing student preparation for the Smarter Balanced Assessment to enable all students to meet required state testing standards.
- Reducing the achievement gap between the CPHS student average and the state average on the Smarter Balanced Assessment.
- Reaching the federal and state participation requirement of 95% for the Smarter Balanced Assessment

- Increasing college and career readiness for all students by increasing the extended graduation rate by 2%.
- Raising the level of mutual respect, trust and pride for all stakeholders through utilization of “Safe and Civil Schools” best practices.
- Raising the level of rigor and expectations for student achievement through the continuation of modeling, establishing norms, developing standards based rubrics, and further implementing best practices for assessment through Professional Learning Communities.
- Increasing availability of AVID Elective courses for all grade levels and implementing AVID aligned core instructional strategies school-wide.

Facility Use
Our school is used throughout the school year during non-school hours by parents, community organizations and recreation groups. A facility use application is required for use of our facility and can be obtained by calling 253-583-7354. The general condition of our school is rated as fair (includes pool) per the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction scoring guidelines.
