An anonymous, 36-question survey, overseen by Pacific Market Research, was conducted in September 2017. A total of 400 telephone interviews were completed.
Key findings include:
- Eighty-two percent of respondents either agree or strongly agree the district offers quality educational programs and services;
- Sixty-eight percent of respondents either agree or strongly agree the district is teaching students the skills they need to lead successful lives;
- Nearly nine of ten respondents (87%) agreed or strongly agreed that the district ensures schools are safe places to learn;
- Most respondents agreed (70%) or strongly agreed that the district spends tax dollars wisely.
- All respondents (100%) agreed that the partnerships the district maintains with local organizations are important.
- Eighty percent of parents of school-aged children have visited the district website.
- Respondents indicated the most important areas to fund are:
- Basic skills;
- Smaller class sizes; and
- Programs to help students.
Community members agree:
- They receive information from the district on a regular basis;
- The information is valuable;
- The district is doing a good job keeping the community informed; and
- The district keeps them aware of the status of several capital projects.
