Parent and Community Involvement

Parent and community engagement is key to student success. All parents, family and community members are invited to be involved in our school. We offer a variety of ways for interested individuals to support our students. Some examples include joining our parent organization, volunteer tutoring, chaperoning field trips, serving as a site council member and helping with school special events. Please contact us at the above number to learn more about getting involved with our school.

School Improvement Plan

Thomas is a school where students experience high engagement in an inclusive teaching and learning environment where all students, staff, and the community see our school culture through a 4-Pillar lens. This lens is where students see themselves as lifelong collaborative learners who demonstrate character and leadership. As a staff and student body, we are working on defining our values, taking ownership of individual and school achievement, demonstrating our best selves and best work, engaging in academic behaviors, and celebrating our Thomas stakeholders.

Our School Improvement Plan has three areas of focus: academic achievement, family engagement, and social-emotional learning. We believe students experience academic growth and achievement when staff and families are positively engaged in our school community and when supports are in place for all students to be safe, respectful, responsible, and compassionate so that they come to school ready to learn.

Facility Use and Condition

Our school is used throughout the school year during non-school hours by parents, community organizations and recreation groups. A facility use application is required for use of our facility and can be obtained by calling 253-583-7354. The general condition of our school is rated as excellent per the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction scoring guidelines.
