Superintendent Banner Receives 2026 AWSP President's Award

Clover Park School District Superintendent Ron Banner received the 2026 President's Award from the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP). The award recognizes an educational leader who is a relentless advocate for principals, assistant principals and the principalship in support of student success.
"I am deeply honored to have received the President's Award from the Association of Washington School Principals," Superintendent Ron Banner said. "This recognition reflects our district's collective dedication to supporting student success and empowering educational leaders across our community."
Banner was selected by 2025-26 AWSP Board President Jason Smith for his commitment to developing and supporting school leaders throughout Clover Park School District. AWSP recognized Banner's leadership in championing the organization's Empowering Excellence series and his dedication to strengthening instructional leadership across the district.
“Ron realized that the only way to improve student outcomes is by supporting the ongoing growth and sustainability of his school leaders,” AWSP Executive Director Scott Seaman said. “The Empowering Excellence series wasn’t just another leadership council meeting; it was a deep reflection and rich conversation that Ron fully participated and engaged in as the learning leader of the learning organization.”
The award was presented June 29 during the AWSP luncheon at the AWSP/WASA Annual Summer Conference in Spokane.
