Season 1, Episode #1: Attendance
Attending school every day sets kids up for success in their learning, but don’t take our word for it! Mr. Banner’s first video features some powerful advice from high school seniors and elementary students for their peers.
Season 1, Episode #2: The Road to Graduation
In the second video of this series, Mr. Banner met with Dower Elementary School and Hudtloff Middle School students at Lakes High School to learn about their goals, what being “future ready” means to them, how they’re preparing for their future and the importance of graduating.

In his last video of the school year, Mr. Banner participates in a conversation with graduating seniors to learn about their individual experiences in CPSD, plans for the future and advice for future graduates.
Season 2, Episode #1: Worksite Learning
In this episode, Superintendent Banner visits Burs Restaurant for a conversation about Cooperative Worksite Learning (WSL) — a unique program that helps students gain real-world experience while earning high school credit. Joining the discussion are Gilbert Gomez, a Lakes High School senior working at Burs through the WSL program; Robin Harrell, Lakes High School CTE culinary teacher; and Dr. Demetricia Hodges, Director of CTE and College & Career Readiness. Together, they share how hands-on learning is helping students discover their passions, build career skills, and become future ready. Hear how partnerships between schools and local businesses are creating pathways for student success — one opportunity at a time.
